As reported in an exclusive by The Sun, Pep Guardiola is already making big plans this summer and is planning a La Liga raid for a defensive duo that happen to be brothers.

What's the story?

After a topsy-turvy season for the Manchester City defence, Guardiola is planning on big changes and has already identified the players he wants to make a difference.

That's according to The Sun, who say that Atletico Madrid brother Lucas and Theo Hernandez are both on the club's radar.

The paper reckons that Guardiola is a huge admirer of both, having tracked their progress for the last six months. They wouldn't come cheaply though, the Sun saying that it would take £40m to land both this summer.

 Ready for City?

Lucas, a centre-back who can also play on the left hand side of defence, has already made the breakthrough to the Atletico Madrid first team making 11 appearances so far this term for the La Liga contenders.

His brother Theo Hernandez has played more La Liga games this season, but on loan at Alaves where he's made 22 appearances at left-back.

It would be a bold move to make a the reported £40m move for the pair considering their lack of experience but with John Stones not having the bests of seasons and the likes of Aleksandar Kolarov coming to the end of his City career you can see why Guardiola is looking to make signings in these areas.

If the City boss sees something in the French pair then it could be a shrewd move bringing them to the Etihad early in their careers before they've had time to add even more money onto their asking price.
