Manchester United are on alert after Gianluigi Donnarumma's agent revealed no progress has been made on a new deal for the AC Milan goalkeeper, The Sun reports.

What's the word?

Teenage sensation Gianluigi Donnarumma has made quite the impression on the continent with AC Milan and, naturally, top sides are circling for his signature. Having just turned 18, he can now sign a long-term deal with the San Siro side.

However, quite remarkably, no progress has been made with the young talent and his agent, Mino Raiola, has revealed they will have to wait until a Chinese takeover of the Italian giants is complete- with that move expected to go ahead this month.

With no word yet from the likely new owners, Donnarumma has not yet made a decision on his future and it's put the likes of Manchester United on alert.

What's been said?

Quoted by The Sun, Mino Raiola gave an update on Donnarumma's contract situation by saying:

"I know a lot of things but predicting the future is hard. We don't know. Stay at Milan? I haven't heard from anyone from the new Milan, for me Milan is represented by Galliani so I have no reference to talk about the new Milan."

"Does he want to stay? He does his part and I do mine, this is the agreement, so I have to see his future and the possibilities, then the players make the choice. I think it's vital for me to see first what the new Milan will be like."

"That's the most important question that you aren't asking yourself, you are all focused on the extension and not hat Milan will be like. Nobody can answer that, especially myself, not even Milan. It won't be until I see the new ownership and I start talking with them that I can have a clear idea"

Who wants him?

Manchester United are not alone in their interest of Gianluigi Donnarumma though, as The Sun states Real Madrid and Juventus are also keen. Juventus, who have the ageing Gianluigi Buffon on their ranks, would be an ideal fit- whilst Real Madrid are known to be on the market for a new stopper.

Should Donnarumma's signature become available, you can bet a number of other top-sides will express an interest and it certainly won't be an easy battle for Manchester United to emerge victorious from.
