Hull City are set to secure the Deadline Day signing of Andrea Ranocchia from Italian giants Inter Milan, The Hull Daily Mail reports.

What's the word?

The struggling Tigers are set to bolster their defensive line with the signing of experienced Italian defender Andrea Ranocchia, who will move to the North East club on-loan from Inter Milan until the end of the Premier League season.

28-year-old Ranocchia has not featured for Inter since the beginning of December and has accumulated just nine appearances throughout the campaign, leaving him surplus to requirements at the San Siro and allowing Hull to push towards a major coup.

With Hull sitting second-bottom in the Premier League and conceding a whopping 41 goals so far this season, improvements are needed to push the club to safety and the Tigers are set to be very busy on Deadline Day.

Where does a deal stand?

After agreeing a deal with Inter Milan last night, Andrea Ranocchia has flown to England this morning for a medical and has already arrived at the club's training ground- with a deal now imminent, providing everything goes smoothly.

It's set to be an extremely busy day for Hull, with reports indicating boss Marco Silva wants at least five new signings before the 11pm deadline. Those that could follow Ranocchia to Hull include Watford's Adlene Guedioura, Bournemouth's Max Gradel and Nicola Pepe, Alfred N'Diaye and Marvin Zeegelaar from the continent.
