As reported by The Daily Mail, Chelsea are showing significant interesting in bringing Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge from Everton this summer.

What's the word?

Lukaku broke Everton supporters' hearts this week when he revealed he isn't planning on extending his contract at Goodison Park beyond its 2019 expiry date.

The Mail reckon that's opened the door for Chelsea to make a dramatic summer move that would see Lukaku return to the club he failed to make the grade at after signing in 2011.

However, the Blues may not have it all their own way with Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain also showing interest. Everton too are confident that they can convince him to sign a new deal at Goodison Park, according to the report.

He's clearly a man in high demand, but is he worth the fuss?

Can he make it at Chelsea?

In his spell at Stamford Bridge Lukaku failed to score a single goal but arguably never got the chances he deserved to show what he can do. Making just 15 appearances in between loan spells at West Bromwich Albion and Everton, he couldn't force himself into a regular start at the club.

However in the time since, Lukaku has become one of the Premier League's most lethal attackers and this season alone has netted an incredible 22 goals in all competitions for the Toffees.

That's the kind of fire power that could bring Chelsea to the next level as they prepare for a tilt at the UEFA Champions League next season. In return, the move could also improve Lukaku massively playing alongside better players and taking on the responsibility to be an elite player at one of England's most successful sides.
