As reported by The Sun, both Manchester United and Arsenal are showing serious interest in Monaco's midfielder superstar Tiemoue Bakayoko.

What's the story?

Bakayoko made a big splash in the UEFA Champions League last week, scoring the vital winning goal against Manchester City to send his side through to the quarter-finals of the competition.

Watching eagerly on, according to The Sun, were Arsenal and Manchester United scouts, tracking the progress of the midfielder.

They say Jose Mourinho is intent on partnering him with compatriot Paul Pogba while Arsene Wenger is looking for big improvement in their midfield area.

However, both clubs face competition from Serie A giants Juventus who also had scouts in attendance to watch the Frenchman, say the paper.

Why all the fuss?

Bakayoko is a young, dynamic and combative defensive midfielder that has been in blistering form for Monaco this season. His displays in midfield have been a massive part of Monaco's rise to the top of Ligue 1, providing the physical presence required to allow his more creative teammates to flourish.

The 22 year old has yet to win his first full France cap but was recently called up to his national team after Paul Pogba's injury ruled him out of this week's qualifiers.

He appears to have all the attributes required to shine in the Premier League and if Arsenal or Manchester United can win the race for his signature then they're likely to be improved at a first team level.

Will he soon be swapping life in France for a shot at the English top-flight?
