Jese Rodriguez is in talks to leave Paris Saint-Germain to join an unnamed Premier League side, the president of Las Palmas has told Goal.

What's the word?

Jese Rodriguez hasn't managed to excel in the French capital since moving there from Real Madrid in the summer, making just nine league appearances and finding the net once. Unai Emery's side are looking to offload him this month and it seems the Premier League is a likely destination.

Las Palmas president Miguel Angel Ramirez, whilst confirming his club's interest in the Canary Islands-born Spaniard, told Goal that an unnamed Premier League side are prepared to match the asking price and Jese's wage demands.

“I’ve been speaking with his representative and there is an English club that wants to pay everything.”

This comes after Ramirez was quoted by Metro as confirming Liverpool were one of the clubs keen on Jese's services, along with Italian duo AC Milan and Roma.

"Jese Rodriguez is a great footballer. He wants to come to Las Palmas, but he is owned by PSG and earns a salary that is of his level – and that is very high."

“Liverpool, Milan and Roma want Jese and are ready to pay what he earns. We cannot afford that salary.”

Using the standard process of elimination, you can deduce that the unnamed English side is managed by a certain Jurgen Klopp.

What he excel at Liverpool?

Only turning 24 next month, Jese Rodriguez has numerous years ahead of him to shine but has struggled to find his way. That's not a discredit to his ability though, as it's always going to be difficult to make an impression at Real Madrid or PSG.

At Liverpool, under the guidance of Klopp, Jese can potentially become a key-member of the first-team squad. That said, the Reds already boast impressive ability in wide areas and the area of attack where they do look lacklustre is centrally.

Whilst he's established himself as a wide player, there is the potential for Jese to be crafted into a more central striker. In the end, it all comes down to the price Liverpool would have to pay- but it would be an unwise decision to pass up the opportunity to land a player of Jese's calibre.
