Paris Saint-Germain full-back Thomas Meunier has handed Manchester United a big boost, revealing he's a fan of the Red Devils and wants to play in the Premier League.

What's the word?

Manchester United's defence has been rather suspect at times this season, will the full-backs options looking particularly depleted, so it's unsurprising to see them linked with a host of names across Europe. Now, one player has given them a huge boost.

As reported by The Daily MailMeunier has admitted he is a Manchester United man and revealed his desire to play in the Premier League in the future- which may put Jose Mourinho's side on alert.

Meunier only moved to the French capital in the summer but has excelled under the guidance of Unai Emery, helping the Parisians secure a fantastic 4-0 victory over Barcelona in the Champions League last night.

With PSG spending just £6m on the 25-year-old, they could earn a huge profit if Manchester United swoop and the comments from Meunier suggest he'll certainly consider a transfer.

What was said?

Speaking to DH,  Meunier said:

‘I’ve always said that one day, I would like to play in the Premier League. I’m very happy in Paris and if I finish my career there, it won’t be a disappointment, far from it. But, if one day, I had to leave Paris, why not?'

‘On the other side of the channel, there are the stadiums, the fans, and I’ve never hidden that I’m a big fan of Manchester United, which remains, in my eyes, the real reference in the world of football.’

Will he leave?

Given the fact he only arrived at the Parc des Princes last summer, Manchester United will find it incredibly difficult to lure Meunier away from the clutches of the Ligue 1 giants. However, the right-back may push for a transfer.

With PSG likely to earn a huge profit on Meunier if they were to sell, a sale to United should definitely not be ruled out and the French side should be able to cope in his absence- as they also boast impressive 24-year-old Serge Aurier amidst their ranks.
