As reported in an exclusive by The Sun, Manchester City are keen on bringing Fulham wonderkid Ryan Sessegnon to the Etihad Stadium this summer.

What's the story?

After becoming the first player born this century to score in the English league system, there's been a lot of media spotlight on young left-back Sessegnon.

Now that media chatter is resulting in interest from some of the biggest teams in the country and Manchester City are at the front of the queue.

The Sun say that Pep Guardiola is a fan of the 16 year old and reckons he has the potential to make it in Manchester. Despite his young age, Fulham are said to be commanding a fee of at least £8m for their young starlet before they let him leave.

How much potential does he have?

Compared to Gareth Bale by Fulham teammate Kevin McDonald, it's clear Sessegnon is thought to have a very bright future in the game. The teenager has made 18 appearances in his first season of professional football and has shown excellent dribbling and crossing ability.

At just 16, he is of course still raw and would require polishing by Guardiola to truly shine for Manchester City. What he needs more than anything is regular first-team football so perhaps a move to the Etihad would not be the best for his development.

Nevertheless, City investing early in that development could pay dividends down the line, especially if he truly is a player that could turn into a world class talent like Gareth Bale.
