St Etienne ace Romain Hamouma has admitted he dreams of playing for a club like Manchester United, the Frenchman is quoted as saying by L'Equipe.

What's the word?

Manchester United look to have all but secured their spot in the next round of the Europa League following their 3-0 victory over St Etienne last night, courtesy of a Zlatan Ibrahimovic hat-trick, and one of their opponents from that clash has admitted he 'dreams' of playing for Manchester United.

29-year-old Frenchman Romain Hamouma played the entirety of last night's clash against Jose Mourinho's side, where the Ligue 1 outfit were swept aside by the Red Devils- in a result that many expected.

If Hamouma was to have his way though, he'd be playing for Manchester United next season, perhaps in the Premier League, as he revealed his desires for his career.

What was said?

Speaking to L'Equipe, and quoted by Metro, Hamouma said:

‘I dreamed of going professional. That’s the hardest bit. Then, like everyone else, I dreamed of playing at such a club [as Manchester United]."

Could it happen?

We hate to be the bearers of bad news and shatter the dreams of Romain Hamouma but it would certainly raise a lot of eyebrows if the 29-year-old was to seal a move to Manchester United, as the Red Devils are already well-stocked in the wide areas.

With Anthony Martial and Henrikh Mkhitaryan amongst those on their books, Hamouma would certainly struggle to get first-team opportunities at Old Trafford and Jose Mourinho would likely overlook the experienced winger if he was to look to improve his options out wide.
