Football
FanCast columnist Hans
Schmitz feels that it is time
that Spurs supporters were given some clarity once and for all.
If there is one aspect of football that always leaves a sour
taste in the mouth, then it is the lack of transparency given to supporters when
it comes to club matters.
Football FanCast columnist Hans Schmitz is delighted to see Spurs are making efforts to fill that left wing slot but is torn as to who he would prefer.
If there is one thing that I find extremely despicable about a club of our size is the way we have continued to put square pegs in round holes. Play Malbranque on the left, gave Jenas on arrival a shift on the right - It simply makes no sense as to why we do it and what I find it extremely hard to fathom that in five transfer windows, we have continually failed to fill that left midfield slot. It honestly defies belief and I for one am glad to hear the noises from the Lane that it is something we are looking to address.
Football FanCast columnist Hans Schmitz has decided to go on a scouting mission to find the players that he feels would be a welcome addition to White Hart Lane - his next stop takes him to his native Holland.
If there was one statistic that amazed me when the season came to an end, was that Spurs had dropped some 30+pts, when in a leading position in matches. It made for woeful reading and a real indictment of how our season panned out; as kamikaze defending coupled with poor goalkeeping made the club look as vulnerable as I have seen them since the days of Ossie and Christian Gross.

There is an old expression that if you fire enough bullets then one of them is bound to hit, and what a better way to describe the recent rumblings and the constant newspaper attention we are receiving.
Football FanCast columnist Hans
Schmitz feels that Tom Huddleston is being widely underused at Spurs
and feels the midfield man could save the club a small fortune.
If there is one
footballer that has most Spurs fans split, then it's big Tom Huddleston. There
is no doubting the boy's ability with the ball. Left foot, right foot, he can
put the ball on a six pence; and his shooting isn't bad either. Older Spurs
fans see Hoddle esque qualities in the player- abilities that you rarely see
these days and you could say that the Hudd is an old school footballer playing
his trade in the modern game.
Football FanCast
columnist Hans Schmitz feels that Spurs should take advantage of
the reported unrest at City and try and tempt Martin Petrov to White Hart Lane.
If there is one thing that has become a running joke among
Spurs fans then it is our total inability to bring in a natural left sided
midfielder. 5 managers and countless transfer windows have passed and yet no
one has been able to fill that slot vacated by David Ginola, it is crazy and
beyond belief and for me has held back for far too long.
