Football FanCast columnist Jim McKendry cannot understand why Newcastle United never get the respect they duly deserve.

Kevin Keegan is very much an enigma in football and you really either love or loath him. I personally have great admiration and respect for the man, for the simple reason that in the modern day game it is rare that you are treated to such honesty. He is a man of principle, belief and wants his football club to play the right way without having to sacrifice style and effort to achieve his goals. What is so wrong with that? The Premier League would be a much better place, if managers all shared that philosophy.

If there was a man in football more deserving of a cup final success than Harry Redknapp, then I haven't met them. One of the games great characters, a dying breed in the modern era, has seen one of the rollercoaster seasons of his life end in triumph and I generally hope that is not the last we see of him in the game.

Thierry Henry's failure to collect the World Player of the year award, during his Arsenal days, must rank as one of the biggest mysteries in football. How a player who use to score 30+ goals every given season, provide countless assists and was simply unplayable at times, never got the recognition by football's governing bodies is a disgrace and highlights once more the lack of appreciation the Premier League receives.

Football FanCast columnist Jim McKendry looks at two Liverpool Legends and wonders why they have failed to set the International scene alight.

If there are two players who will certainly get inducted in the Premier League hall of fame at some point in their lifetime, then it has to be Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher. They are two of my favourite players and the real heartbeat of that Liverpool side and both would run through the proverbial brick walls for the cause. I don't where both players will rank in their great club illustrious history but I'm guessing they have already done enough to be considered among the best.
