Football FanCast columnist and Everton fan Debbie Smaje is relishing the biggest Merseyside derby since 89 and for the first time in her lifetime, Liverpool hold no fear.

So it's finally here. After weeks and months of anticipation and build up, the biggest Merseyside Derby since the 1989 FA Cup Final is here. And for the first time in my life watching Everton, I'm not scared of them.

Football FanCast columnist Debbie Smaje hopes Everton can bounce back from their UEFA defeat and end one of the longest running barren spells in their great history.

One of the best nights of my life, and yet one of the worst. Fiorentina made my heart swell with pride, and then shattered it at the end. Europe is over, 4th spot is now the aim, so our full attention now turns to Craven Cottage on Sunday; a ground we haven't won on in over 40 years.

FFC columnist Debbie Smaje believes it vital that Everton get maximum points in the next couple of weeks to maintain their momentum as the Merseyside D-Day looms.

After wins for Portsmouth, Aston Villa and next-door neighbours Liverpool at the weekend, FFC columnist Debbie Smaje previews Everton's 6-pointer this evening at the City of Manchester Stadium.

Narrow wins for Pompey and Liverpool on Saturday have suddenly increased the pressure around Monday night's crunch game between Man City and Everton. With Aston Villa also in form, an already huge game for both clubs in the congested battle for 4th place just reached the description of ‘vital.'

Ahead of tonight's UEFA Cup second leg tie at Goodison Park, FFC columnist Debbie Smaje discusses the return of the influential South African winger, Steven Pienaar, a player that all Evertonians would like to see move to blue half of Merseyside, on a permanent basis.

Thursday night's second leg at Goodison Park against Brann should see a welcome return for probably Everton's most important player, Mikel Arteta, who missed the first leg. It is a sign of how much the club has progressed that Arteta is not the only spark we have in midfield any more. Almost the forgotten man to anybody but Everton fans, Steven Pienaar should make his return this week, and things from then on can only get better.
