‘From the Lane' author Oliver Wright feels it is make or break
time for Heurelho Gomes
Much has been made of the lack of impact made by most of
Tottenham's summer signings during the dreadful start to our season. Now,
however, with Harry Redknapp in charge, the new signings, like the rest of the
squad, have the chance to show the new boss that they are in fact decent
players.
‘From the Lane' author Oliver Wright reflects on the gaping
hole that the departures of Berbatov and Keane have provided and wonders where
the goals are going to come from now.
A ticket to see
Spurs v Aston Villa, £37; a programme, £3; a beer before the game, £3; Robbie
Keane and Dimitar Berbatov up front, priceless.
Oliver Wright; author of 'From the Lane' is surprised to see that Berbatov is still at White Hart Lane.
It has been an interesting couple of weeks in the transfer market for Spurs, with several players heading out the exit door, Bentley arriving and the usual barrage of European names being linked with the club. With just a week left until the season kicks off, however, the main surprise of the summer has been a certain Bulgarian's failure to leave the Lane.

Wright looks at Spurs' performance in the transfer window
and doesn't feel it is quite panning out as first thought.
The
summer transfer window is usually a time of excitement, and often ultimate
disappointment, for Tottenham supporters. We are constantly linked with a
plethora of the world's best flair players, which sets the imagination in
motion, only to never sign them.
