At last Man Utd win by a margin worthy of the money they have spent over the summer by thrashing Wigan 4-0 at Old Trafford on Saturday. Most pleasing of all is how well the younger players came in and gave performances that bellied their age.

Where is the Manchester United of last season, scoring goals for fun, winning games before half time? This was the season we were meant to take all four competitions by storm and already we find ourselves out of one, albeit the Carling Cup, the lesser of the four.
