Why football will always be considered 'the beautiful game'

the ‘North West Masters,' why football is truly the most beautiful of games.

On Saturday evening, I went to the North West Masters. If you were there, or
happened to watch it on Sky Sports, you'll have seen some terrific football,
and a cracking atmosphere - helped significantly by a large group of jovial
Oldham fans. And it was that night that made me see exactly why the full
version of football is the best game in the world and why it doesn't seem to
push the right buttons for most Americans.

Why Manchester United star should put up and shut up

Football FanCast columnist David Mooney feels that given Cristiano Ronaldo has 4yrs remaining on his contract
that he should put up and shut up.

With Sepp Blatter making ridiculous claims about the modern footballer, I
thought I'd just take a quick look at all the things these ‘modern day slaves' have to put up with and how enslaved they
actually are. I mean, Blatter may have just picked the wrong word, after all
English isn't his first language, but he does seem fluent enough to know what a
slave is.
The nine stages every Manchester City fan goes through in any given season!

Mooney looks
at the nine stages that Manchester City fans go through, every given season.

Every team has their
hardcore supporters, but I'm not sure any team has supporters much harder than
Man City. We're the experts at gallows humour and, no matter how bad the
football is and how low the team goes, more and more fans keep turning up.
Time our referees were given a helpful hand?

Football FanCast columnist David
Mooney feels it is about time technology was introduced to aid our referees.

On a popular forum
which I post, there has been criticism aimed towards Graham Poll for giving
decisions that were to ‘further his
career'. He had said on Radio Five Live that all referees make decisions to
further their careers and, when pressed on the matter, he explained how a bad
decision he made got him sent home from the 2002 world cup finals in Japan.
Should Manchester City change its badge motto to 'Typicalis Citum'?

Football FanCast columnist David
Mooney looks at the latest rumblings at his beloved Manchester City and
wonders why any fan wouldn't welcome the signing of Ronaldinho.

Manchester City seems
likely to play their first UEFA Cup game of the 2008/09 season at Oakwell, home
of Barnsley FC. Not because they'll be playing Barnsley,
but because Bon Jovi are playing the City of Manchester Stadium.
