So we’re into the final straight now. England have had their last match before the provisional World Cup squad that flies off to Miami is announced.
Many players will claim that their minds are focused firmly on their club games that lie ahead but, whether they are challenging for numerous honours or battling against relegation, every English player will hope that a good run of form will force Roy Hodgson’s hand. Over the coming weeks, our World Cup ‘Plane Predictor’ will give a brief run-down of the Premier League results with a focus on the form and performances of the hopeful few looking to stake a realistic claim to their place in the England squad for Brazil.
NB – this will unlikely cover the form of those considered nailed-on certainties for their positions (i.e Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard, Joe Hart, Gary Cahill etc.). That would be pointless.
