Arsenal are interested in a deal to bring Dusan Vlahovic to The Emirates in the January transfer window.

What's the talk?

That's according to a report by Italian publication Corriere dello Sport (via Sport Witness), who claim that Darko Ristic - the 22-year-old centre-forward's agent - is currently searching to secure his client a move away from Juventus, as the Serbia international is said to have 'discontented' from the Serie A side - largely due to the tactics of Massimiliano Allegri.

The report goes on to state that Ristic has already registered the 'strong interests' of clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich regarding a move for the striker next summer, however, it is then claimed that Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea are ready to move for the forward 'immediately' this winter.

Finally, while it is suggested that the Bianconeri would prefer to keep a hold of the 22-year-old until the end of the current campaign, should an interested party lodge a bid 'exceeding €90m' (£80m) in January, this offer would be 'listened to carefully' by the Serie A outfit - as the Italian giants are reported to be struggling financially.

"Animal in a cage"

Considering just how impressive Vlahovic has been in Italy over the last two years, it is easy to see why Mikel Arteta would be keen on a deal to bring the Serbian sensation to the Emirates Stadium this winter - especially following the news that Gabriel Jesus looks set to remain sidelined for around three months as a result of a knee injury.

Indeed, over his 36 Serie A appearances in 2021/22, the £80m-rated talent was electric going forwards, bagging a whopping 24 goals, providing three assists and creating five big chances for his teammates, as well as taking an average of 3.3 shots - 1.5 of which hit the target - making 0.8 key passes and completing 0.9 dribbles per game.

These returns saw the former ACF Fiorentina star average a breathtaking Sofascore match rating of 7.23, not only ranking him as the Bianconeri's third-best performer in the league but also as the 17th-best player in the Italian top flight as a whole last time out.

Not much has changed over the £213k-per-week hitman's 10 league outings so far this season, with Vlahovic having already scored six goals and registered one assist, in addition to taking an average of 3.1 shots - 1.2 of which have been on target - making 1.1 key passes and completing 0.5 dribbles per match.

These metrics have seen the player who journalist Hayley McGoldrick dubbed "insane" average a simply sensational Sofascore match rating of 7.15, not only ranking him as Allegri's joint seventh-best performer in the division but also as the joint 31st-best player in Serie A in its entirety.

As such, while it is true that Eddie Nketiah did impress in the 3-1 victory over West Ham United on Boxing Day, it is undeniable that the 22-year-old who journalist Siavoush Fallahi claimed is "like an animal in a cage" at Juve would be an exceptional signing for Edu to get over the line this winter - not to mention one who could undoubtedly help to fire Arsenal to the league title.
