Aston Villa have already seen Jacob Ramsey establish himself as a first-team regular under Steven Gerrard and the former England midfielder could have another top talent on his hands in Jacob's younger brother, Aaron.

Both brothers are products of the youth academy at Aston Villa, with Jacob having gone on to make 70 appearances for the first team, in which he has contributed six goals and three assists, with all of his goals coming in a breakthrough Premier League campaign last season.

Gerrard was full of praise for the 21-year-old and his potential last season, suggesting that he has what it takes to play for England.

He said:

“I want him to make his own headlines with his football. He is a top talent, I’m loving every moment of working with him. He is getting stronger with each game because we’re giving him the platform to express himself. He is in a wonderful place.

"He will be a terrific player. It won’t be long before the whole country is watching him I’m sure. He is right up there, let me tell you.”

Aaron, meanwhile, made headlines during the summer when he scored in the final as England U19s won the European Championships after a 3-1 win against Israel.

The 19-year-old gem has made just one substitute appearance for Villa's senior side thus far and spent time on loan with Cheltenham last season, contributing one goal and one assist in 15 games.

It was something of a surprise when he joined Championship promotion hopefuls Norwich City on loan during the summer, but the teenager is emphasising his quality with the Canaries.

In just seven appearances, he has already contributed last three games in the Championship.

It hasn't been reported whether or not Ramsey will be there for the season, which could open the door for Gerrard to recall him in January if he continues to impress.

The former Villa boss, now in charge of the Norfolk outfit, was full of praise for the attacking midfielder after a win against Coventry recently, saying:

“I thought AJ [Ramsey] was excellent in the ten position today. Some of his movement and his flicks and his vision was excellent.

“It’s important we get goals from all across the pitch. Ramsey is starting to get to grips with life in the Championship and has settled in really well, which I would expect because he’s such a good, lovely lad.

"He understands the game, he’s a clever footballer, especially today, you could see that in the first half."

The Athletic suggested earlier this week, ahead of his assist against Bristol City on Wednesday, that he led the way for expected assists in the Championship, which again emphasises the impact he is having.

Ramsey looks set to return to Villa Park as another top prospect, and the idea of him starring alongside his brother in Villa's midfield is surely an exciting one for the Midlands club.
