After winning just one of their previous six league games, it seems as though Aston Villa have been handed some much-needed good news which could end up having a significant bearing on their fortunes for the rest of the Premier League season.

What's the news?

In a recent tweet from Villa journalist from Ashley Preece, he shared an article he wrote for Birmingham Mail which contained some "positive" news concerning the Midlands club.

The journalist revealed that Villa winger Bertrand Traore is hopeful of being fit enough to return to action next week for their Premier League clash against Brighton & Hove Albion, with his hamstring issue not as bad as first feared.

Preece also claimed that Marvelous Nakamba's rehabilitation is going as well as hoped, with the midfielder apparently targeting a return to action before the end of the season after suffering a serious knee injury back in December.

Taking into account how Traore has racked up eight goals and seven assists in 45 appearances for the Villans across all competitions since he joined the club in 2020 from Lyon in a deal worth a reported £17m, he will provide Gerrard with a potent attacking option going forward.

Having offloaded two wingers in Trezeguet and Anwar El Ghazi on individual loan deals during the January transfer window, this could give Traore a better shot at getting regular game-time for Villa when he returns.

As for Nakamba, the fact that he had started his previous seven league games for Villa before suffering his unfortunate injury goes to show just how important he is for the team and why it would be great to see him back in action before the season ends.

If Traore can hit the ground running in terms of goal contributions when he's fit enough to play again, and Nakamba can continue with his recovery and get some minutes under his belt before the end of the season, this would surely please a lot of Villa fans and put the team in a good shape to end the campaign on a high note.
