Having been busier than most clubs in the Premier League in terms of transfer activity throughout the January window with new players brought in and current players loaned out, it's safe to say that Aston Villa have had a fairly proactive month behind the scenes.

Looking ahead to tonight's 11pm deadline, it seems as though the Villa fans won't have to worry about potentially missing any very late transfer deals concerning their club.

What's the latest?

Speaking live on Sky Sports News' deadline day coverage (31/1/21 - 4.30pm), reporter Rob Dorsett was discussing the likelihood of any late incoming transfer business deals being completed before tonight's deadline.

He said that there will be "no more new signings for Aston Villa before the deadline," which is a pretty clear indication that Villa's business for the month has been completed.

In fact, a recent tweet from the club's official account which contained an image of all the players that they have signed throughout the month, including the two current players who signed new deals at Villa Park, appears to confirm the end of their business for January.

Fans will be disappointed

Having secured loan deals for Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona and goalkeeper Robin Olsen from AS Roma, the Midlands club also managed to secure permanent deals for left-back Lucas Digne from Everton for £25m and centre-back Calum Chambers from Arsenal as a free agent after Axel Tuanzebe left Villa Park earlier in the month.

Even though their club have been rather busy when it comes to signing new players this month, some Villa fans would presumably be disappointed to hear that there may not be a final bit of deadline day excitement at Villa with a new face following in the footsteps of the new players to have already joined Gerrard's squad.

Moving forward, if Villa can end the season as high up the league table as possible, then they can look to the summer transfer window to potentially make even more changes to their squad and strengthen even further than they have done this month.
