According to The Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa remain keen on Bournemouth striker Josh King.

What's the word?

Dean Smith's side have enjoyed a fantastic start to the new Premier League season, racking up three wins from three, and delivering a 7-2 hammering to champions Liverpool on Sunday night.

Despite new boy Ollie Watkins bagging himself a perfect hat-trick at Villa Park, it appears as though Smith is keen to bring in some further reinforcements up front.

The Birmingham Mail claim that King remains of interest to Villa due to his availability, and that a deal to bring him to the Midlands remains a realistic possibility given that the deadline for Premier League and EFL clubs to do transfers has a deadline of October 16.

More work for Lange

Whilst Lange can no doubt be happy with his summer's work at Villa already, a move for King would be the icing on the cake.

The Norwegian - who has earned 48 caps at international level - has proven himself to be a very decent operator at Premier League level, netting 48 goals in 161 games in the competition.

Given his years of experience in the top-flight with Bournemouth, he would need no time to adapt or adjust, and that makes him the ideal partner or second-in-waiting to Watkins.

Former Villa man Darren Bent has gone on record to say he's a "big fan" of King, adding: "You can tell that he has a lot of ability. He can score goals and he can create goals. He has all the ability."

Lange's work in the transfer window may not be over yet.
