Aston Villa in advanced negotiations to finally sign Werder Bremen’s Milot Rashica

According to Sky Sports Germany (via Sport Witness), Aston Villa are in advanced negotiations with Werder Bremen over a move for Milot Rashica.

What’s the word?

Just a day after beating Premier League champions Liverpool 7-2, it looks like things could be getting even better for Villa fans. Bremen winger Rashica has been linked with a move to the club for numerous weeks, and it now appears that things are finally getting into gear just as the transfer window nears its end.

Should Villa complete a deadline day swoop for Milot Rashica?

No, we don't need him

Now Sky have claimed that Villa’s talks to sign the Kosovo international are very advanced, and that whilst there are some details to sort out, he believes a transfer can be finalised before the close of play on Monday night.

There isn’t an indication on what the transfer fee involved could be.

Exciting signing for Dean Smith

Whilst some eyebrows may be raised at the fact Villa are close to bringing in another winger given that they have just signed Bertrand Traore from Lyon, when you look at what Rashica can bring to the table, then it’s no surprise to see why Johan Lange is pulling out all the stops.

Capable of playing anywhere across the front-line, the Kosovan is a real live-wire going forward, and would just add to the already exciting attack that Dean Smith is building at Villa Park.

Aston Villa's first win of the season came against Everton at home - what was the score?

The 24-year-old scored 11 goals and provided eight assists in 32 games across all competitions, and he has earned some rave reviews for his performances. Bremen coach, Florian Kohfeldt, said of the £35k-a-week earning ace: “Milot’s taken a massive leap in the last year or so. He’s got more confidence in himself and makes scoring look so easy.”

The Bundesliga’s official website compared his playing style to Alexis Sanchez, saying: “A one-man attacking force with pace to burn, the Bremen talisman has that self-same stocky build and low centre of gravity that made Sanchez such an overwhelming prospect for opposition defenders back in his Barcelona and Arsenal days.”

Just think about the prospect of Rashica, linking up with the likes of Jack Grealish, Ollie Watkins and even Traore himself in a multi-dimensional, and pacy attack. Having already torn Liverpool to shreds on Sunday, imagine what another goal-scoring forward can add. It could be one of the most exciting seasons in Villa’s history if they sign the Bremen dynamo.
