The 18-year-old has started both of Metz’s Ligue 1 fixtures so far this campaign despite rumours he could be on his way to the Premier League.

Get French Football News’ White had endorsed a Villa move for Sarr's signature, believing the investment would have paid off in the long-term.

He told Football FanCast: "Sarr is quite a versatile player. He's got a graceful, languid style and plays the box-to-box role.

"Sarr has got so much going for him at such a young age. He had close to a full season in France, has been consistent and progressed remarkably quickly.

"Sarr has a broad skillset and has so much potential to grow even further."
