And don’t worry, if all you want is some Brighton transfer rumours, a laugh or an interesting social media exchange from the Seagulls’ camp, we’ve got plenty of that in our locker as well.
Brighton haven’t really been huge spenders in general. Or rather, that statement was true until the 2019/20 campaign rolled in and the Seagulls suddenly decided to throw caution in the wind and break some records on the way.
With that being said, all three of their most expensive signings to date have been acquired in 2019 with Neal Maupay, Adam Webster and Leandro Trossard slotting into first, second and third place respectively.
Of course, Maupay is very much the record holder, having signed from Brentford for a total of £19.8m, and that is unlikely to change any time soon. Before 2019/20, though, the former AZ Alkmaar player Alireza Jahanbakhsh was on the top of the pile with his £17.1m price tag.
All kinds of players were privileged enough to grace the pitches donning the Brighton colours and the Seagulls have definitely had some memorable signings in the years gone by. From Elliott Bennett and Glenn Murray, all the way to the legendary Bobby Zamora, there are names on the list that can make your head spin.
And most of them were bangers. Of course, there are now some new kids on the block and since 2019/20 has been full of record breakers in their own right, it’s not a stretch to include the likes of Maupay or Webster on the list as well.
You can freely add Inigo Calderon and Bruno in there as well and you would certainly not make a blunder.
