It seems that Leroy Sane's potential departure from Manchester City is becoming increasingly likely as time goes on.

A recent report by Bild has stated that the 23-year-old German winger has already made his mind and he wants to play for Bayern Munich.

If those developments are to be believed, Pep Guardiola might be close to losing one of his highly influential players and one of the big stars of the team in the not so distant future.

For them, it would undoubtedly represent a huge loss as Sane was pretty incredible in 2018/19 despite not always making the starting XI, managing to net 16 goals and assist further 18 across 47 games played in all competitions.

And sure, the Citizens have the likes of Raheem Sterling to occupy that left-wing of theirs but even with that being said, losing the German would surely be a big blow for the team.

Maybe it's his presence that they are already missing in the ongoing season as they are now trailing behind both Liverpool and Leicester in the standings. Of course, a lot of that could be due to their shaky defending, seeing how they've already conceded 19 goals in 17 matches played, but that record doesn't matter so much when you're firing them in at the other end.

No doubt, the German would  be of use to Die Roten who are in need of a prolific wide man.

We've already seen what figures the 23-year-old can produce and looking at Bayern's current squad, he would potentially arrive as a replacement for Kingsley Coman.

But the Bavarians should be extremely careful with their decision before they splash the cash for a player that's reportedly valued at around €150m (£127m).

The main reason why they need someone to take over the mantle from Coman are his constant injury struggles. The Frenchman has a bad history of various fitness setbacks going back multiple seasons.

He is actually out as we speak and despite actually playing 1502 minutes across 20 games in the ongoing campaign, he is by no means a reliable source of goals for Bayern with only four this season.

How well do you really know Raheem Sterling? This quiz will separate the best from the rest...

Of course, having scored 29 goals and assisted 33 in 149 appearances during his stay at the club, he's obviously not as prolific and deadly as Sane and the German would, in theory, represent an improvement in that department.

But with the 23-year-old also currently out with a cruciate ligament rupture, splashing the cash for him could be fairly risky business as well.

Is replacing an injury-stricken player with another injury-stricken player for huge sums of money really what they should be doing right now?

There's no denying Sane has the quality and the talent to become one of the world's best but at the moment he can't really offer Bayern that stability and reliability they are seeking.

Granted, Man City's starlet doesn't have such a long history of injuries in his career but this one is rather serious and it still remains to be seen how he recovers and whether this could become a recurring problem or not.

After all, we are talking about possibly throwing £127m at him.

It's definitely worth another think at least.
