Burnley will remain without forward Jay Rodriguez on Saturday after a pre-Huddersfield Town injury update from manager Vincent Kompany.

The Lowdown: Claret chase promotion...

The Clarets, after dropping town to England's second tier, are chasing Championship promotion in what has been a hugely successful season so far.

Kompany's side are firmly in line for a climb back up to the Premier League after a phenomenal campaign - losing just twice since the beginning of 2022/2023.

They've won a brilliant 21 games out of 33, scoring more goals than any other side in the division as the Turf Moor side gear up for a potential season back in the big time next year.

The Latest: Burnley without Rodriguez...

As per the latest team news, relayed by journalist Andy Jones, Burnley are still without Rodriguez with the Englishman not fully recovered after injury.

He said:

"Burnley injury update: Jordan Beyer is available, Jay Rod & Manuel Benson are still out, Darko Churlinov has been suffering with illness and is close to returning to full fitness."

The Verdict: Special player...

Kompany has previously branded the 33-year-old a 'special player' and the Man City legend will be hoping Rodriguez can get back on the pitch before this season's end.

The former Southampton star has been unfortunate with fitness problems throughout his career, but when available, he had managed to contribute on the pitch.

Scoring nine goals and assisting two others in 24 league appearances this campaign, Burnley would arguably be in an even better position of Rodriguez had been firing and fit for the majority.

Alas, as he waits to get back on the pitch, the player will have to watch Burnley's stellar form from the sidelines.
