Celtic: Predicted Hoops XI to take on Hearts

Celtic return to Premiership action this afternoon as they travel away to Heart of Midlothian with the chance to move five points clear at the top of the table.

Ange Postecoglou’s side can go further clear of their rivals ahead of the rest of the games in the Scottish top-flight as they are taking part in the early kick-off.

Will Celtic win today?

They head into this match off the back of a 4-0 win over Motherwell in the League Cup in midweek, with Liel Abada (x2), Kyogo Furuhashi, and Reo Hatate scoring the goals on the night.

How many changes will Postecoglou make to the team from the win over Motherwell?

Here is our predicted XI for the clash at Tynecastle…

We are predicting that the head coach will make four alterations to the side, with Joe Hart, Anthony Ralston, Georgios Giakoumakis, and James Forrest coming back in.

Starting off at the back, we are predicting that Joe Hart will start ahead of Benjamin Siegrist. The Englishman has started all 10 of the club’s matches in the Premiership this season and appears to be the manager’s clear number one.

At right-back, Anthony Ralston may replace Josip Juranovic. The Croatian full-back started against Motherwell but his Scottish teammate has been solid in the last two Premiership matches, recording SofaScore ratings of 7.1 and 7.0 against Hibernian and St. Johnstone respectively, which is why he could retain his place in the top-flight.

First up in this Celtic transfer quiz, which club did Celtic sign Christopher Jullien from?

On the right of the front three, Forrest could come back to replace Liel Abada. Football FanCast recently published an article explaining why he deserves his place in the side after he scored a hat-trick against Hibernian in the league outing.

Finally, Giakoumakis could return to the starting XI after being left out against Motherwell in the cup. The Greek dynamo, who journalist Josh Bunting once dubbed “vastly underrated“, scored twice in the win over Hibs and should, therefore, come back into the team.

This would leave Kyogo, who scored in midweek, on the bench behind the former Eredivisie marksman. The Japan international has one goal in his last four appearances in all competitions and could be used as an impact substitute to change the game in the second half, if needed.
