Celtic had one of their busiest summer transfer windows in recent memory last year as Ange Postecoglou made his mark on the squad.

Much to the relief of the Hoops supporters and their manager, the significant number of changes to the squad last summer ended up working rather well for the club as they secured the SPFL title with a game to spare.

One figure, in particular, that has been a standout signing for the Parkhead club during the previous summer window is Liel Abada.

Signed from Maccabi Petah Tikva last July on a five-year deal worth a reported fee of £3.5m, the 20-year-old appeared in all but six of Celtic's 60 games across all competitions this season.

This shows just how much of a prominent figure he was for the team and how much trust Postecoglou had in him despite his fairly young age.

With 54 appearances under his belt since his arrival in Scotland, the winger found the net 15 times and provided 11 assists, proving how much of an important attacking figure he was as well.

To further highlight how deadly he was in the league going forward, no other player in Postecoglou's squad managed to equal the number of shots (81) or shots on target (33) the Israel winger racked up.

To put that into perspective, only two other players in the SPFL managed to have more shots on target than the Celtic summer recruit.

Back in April 2020, Transfermarkt had Abada's market value listed as £293k, whereas it currently stands at £4.05m, highlighting a significant increase of 1282%.

Labelled as a "little superstar" by Nir Bitton, Abada has certainly enjoyed a very successful debut campaign with the Bhoys, not just in terms of becoming a league champion with his teammates but also from an individual point of view with the number of goal contributions he's supplied.

With all of this in mind, it's safe to say that the Parkhead club hit the jackpot when they secured their deal for the £15k-per-week youngster.

Moving forward, given how young he is, he's definitely an exciting prospect for the club and certainly has what it takes to become an even better player for them in the future.
