It's the morning after the night before. Ange Postecoglou's Celtic side sit atop the Premiership table after one of the most dominating Old Firm performances in recent memory. Every player wearing green and white, to a man, was expectational. While there may be a few sore heads, today is a very good day for the Parkhead faithful.

Reo Hatate continued to prove that his £1.4m transfer fee looks to have been the best money Celtic have spent in the last 20 years. The masked Callum McGregor befitted his superhero get-up with a superhuman performance in the middle of the park. Josip Juranovic turned in what Kieran Devlin described as "one of the best defensive performances I've seen in a Celtic jersey."

However, when looking at the statistics from the 3-0 demolition of Rangers, there is one player whose returns stick out like a sore thumb - that of Giorgos Giakoumakis.

Just one pass completed

Having enjoyed just 13 touches of the ball, completed a mere one of his three attempted passes, lost seven of his eight duels and missed two big chances over his 62 minutes on the pitch last night, it is easy to see why SofaScore awarded the 27-year-old a 5.9 match rating for his display against Gers.

Indeed, the website does not account for anything but the black and white returns a footballer provides his side during the game in question.

It does not factor in the continuous nuisance the £1.8m-rated striker was for both Calvin Bassey and Connor Goldson in the heart of the Rangers defence.

It does not account for the tireless pressure the Greek international put on opposition players with his endless pressing.

It does not highlight the incredible anticipation and attacking awareness that the £8.2k-per-week hitman showed to rise above Bassey and force a spectacular save from Allan McGregor with a towering header.

It gives no indication of the striker throwing his hands in the air to gee up the Celtic support as his side won corner after corner in the relentless waves of green and white attack crashing against the Gers backline.

Indeed, it is easy to understand why a data-based scoring system ranked Giakoumakis as the worst player to feature in the Old Firm, because it is difficult to quantify just how crucial the 27-year-old was in Celtic's victory over their most fierce rivals - but crucial is exactly what the centre-forward was on Wednesday night.
