Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has dropped an update on the fitness of both Callum McGregor and Kyogo Furuhashi ahead of the Bhoys' upcoming Premiership clash.

What's been said?

Speaking to Sky Sports following the Europa League loss on Thursday, the 56-year-old confirmed that both players came through the fixture against Bayer Leverkusen unscathed and will be available for the trip to Aberdeen on Sunday.

In his comments, Postecoglou said: "No one else is back, but the pleasing thing is Kyogo and Callum McGregor got through [the Leverkusen game] really well, which was really pleasing for us. We wanted to limit their time back because they've been out for a little while, but they pulled through really well."

Fans will be buzzing

Considering the sheer amount of players Celtic currently have unavailable, with James Forrest, Christopher Jullien, Josip Juranovic, Greg Taylor, Mikey Johnston and Karamoko Dembele all sidelined due to injury, the news that both McGregor and Furuhashi look set to feature at Pittodrie is sure to have fans buzzing.

Indeed, Furuhashi has impressed over his four Premiership appearances since joining Celtic this summer, with the 26-year-old scoring three goals and creating one big chance for his teammates, earning an average SofaScore match rating of 7.00.

McGregor has also been in fine form over his five league appearances for the Hoops, with the 28-year-old taking 1.6 shots, making 1.2 key passes and winning 1.4 tackles per game, with these returns seeing the midfielder average a SofaScore match rating of 7.02.

As such, the availability of the duo should undoubtedly be a huge boost to Celtic's chances of picking up a positive result against Aberdeen - something which Postecoglou will be desperately seeking, as the Hoops are yet to pick up a single point away from home so far this season.
