Celtic currently have the biggest squad in the Premiership, with 36 players in their senior ranks according to Transfermarkt.

The Hoops also have the highest number of foreign players in their squad, a squad which have recently been crowned champions ahead of their Glasgow arch-rivals in second place, despite the Ibrox club boasting the most valuable squad in the league.

One figure in Ange Postecoglou's side who hasn't played a big part in Celtic's season this time around is Vasilis Barkas.

Across all competitions in which the Hoops have played this season, the goalkeeper has only made two appearances for his team.

The first of those came during their Champions League second qualifying round first leg clash against FC Midtjylland back in July.

His second and final appearance of the campaign then came in December during the club's 3-1 league win over St Johnstone.

This illustrates that the 27-year-old has failed to show Postecoglou that he has what it takes to be Celtic's first-choice goalkeeper.

Since arriving at Parkhead two years ago, the Greece international has gone on to make just 24 appearances for the club, conceding 23 goals along the way.

Shortly after becoming a Celtic player, Transfermarkt had Barkas' market value listed as £4.5m, which is the same figure that the club paid to sign him from AEK Athens.

However, his value now stands at £1.35m, highlighting a significant decrease of 70%, presumably as a result of his lack of regular action and all too frequent errors.

Taking this into account, it could be safe to assume that Celtic's deal to sign the shot-stopper has not been a particularly successful one, especially when you consider the money they paid for him. In fact, this move for the £9k-per-week dud has been described as a "disaster" by Pete O'Rourke.

In March, it was reported by Football Scotland that Barkas has demanded to leave the club during the upcoming summer transfer window.

If the 'keeper is not going to be playing regularly at Parkhead moving forward, getting rid of him in the coming weeks and months could be the best option for all parties.
