Speaking exclusively to Football FanCast, former Celtic striker Frank McAvennie has laughed off suggestions about a potential swap deal involving Diego Laxalt and Odsonne Edouard.

Striker Edouard has been strongly linked with a move away from Parkhead this summer, with Leicester and Arsenal just two of those keen, whilst Laxalt's loan deal in Glasgow expires at the end of the season, meaning he'll return to Milan.

But the Italian giants are interested in signing the Frenchman, and will happily offer the left-back, who they value at around £8million, in order to try and bring Edouard to the San Siro.

Edouard has been in excellent goalscoring form this season, scoring 20 times in all competitions, and is on course to win the Scottish Premiership Golden Boot.

But whilst McAvennie has previously admitted that the Celtic faithful are resigned to losing Edouard, he doesn't believe a swap with Milan will materialise.

He told Football FanCast:

"What a load of nonsense! Laxalt isn't even getting in the team. He's not a bad player don't get me wrong.

"But for him, a swap deal for Edouard? I wouldn't think so, I don't think Celtic would entertain that for a start."
