Celtic have had a rough seven days with Ange Postecoglou overseeing the club’s worst start to a term in 23 years.

The Hoops tasted a defeat in Europe last week despite going ahead in Spain before they lost to lowly Livingston just a few days later.

What would compile the club’s misery is a defeat to second-tier Raith Rovers on Thursday evening.

Postecoglou is busy preparing his players for a League Cup quarter-final this evening but they will do so again without a number of key individuals.

With that in mind, how could they line up? Here’s what we’re predicting...

We are tipping Celtic to make just four changes from the side that lost to Livi.

The first change is in goal where Joe Hart is afforded a rare night off after his frantic start to life at Parkhead. That means that Scott Bain returns between the posts.

There are two changes at the back where Carl Starfelt should be ready to return from illness to replace Stephen Welsh.

Boli Bolingoli is also axed from the XI so Josip Juranovic moves over to the left with Anthony Ralston coming back in on the right.

James McCarthy is given the boot too. The Irishman attracted considerable criticism on Sunday following his abject performance in the defeat at Almondvale.

As a result of his expulsion and Callum McGregor’s injury setback, Ismaila Soro returns to the XI.

He was nearly sent off against Betis in the Europa League but in the words of former coach Ori Guttman, the £11k-per-week earner possesses “explosive power”, something McCarthy lacks.

With Celtic needing to bounce back imminently, they also field the exciting talents of Liel Abada and Jota in the final third.

Liam Scales and Giorgos Giakoumakis have been talked about as earning debuts in this match but it’s likely they will have to settle for places on the bench.

Greg Taylor and Kyogo Furuhashi are still out injured so will miss the cup tie this week.

AND in other news, Celtic dealt big blow ahead of Raith Rovers tie, Postecoglou surely gutted...
