Celtic were unable to find themselves a win last night after they threw away a 2-0 lead over Lille in their Europa League clash.

Thanks to the on song Mohamed Elyounoussi, the Hoops held their lead until deep into the second half, but defensive frailties cost Neil Lennon's side once again. The French outfit were able to pull level and secure a point, with Shane Duffy in the firing line for giving away a penalty.

Luckily for him, stand-in goalkeeper Scott Bain let him off the hook with a save. However, it wasn't just Duffy who struggled in France last night. Captain Scott Brown put in a disappointing display, proving to be pretty anonymous throughout the majority of the match.

Scott Brown stats vs Lille

The 35-year-old was for the most part an absentee in Lennon's midfield, both in regards to his attacking contributions and the fact that the Lille forwards made easy work of getting past him.

According to Sofascore, Brown only managed one successful long ball out of his attempted five and lost 62% of his duels. He was also dribbled past a worrying four times and failed to make a single key pass, managing just 18 passes in total in the 81 minutes he was on the pitch.

In what was a great opportunity to silence Lennon's critics and drag the Hoops back to winning ways, Brown fell short of the mark. Celtic are on a slippery slope and have been since their loss to Rangers in the Old Firm. They are now without a win in four matches and things will only get trickier as they prepare to face Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup next.

Lennon may need to consider another switch up in his squad but overall, a better team effort must be put in, or the Hoops risk conceding this season's title to their arch rivals.
