Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has enjoyed notable success in recruiting from the Japanese market in his Parkhead tenure thus far, with the likes of Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate and Kyogo Furuhashi having all been snapped up to date, as well as the more recent additions of both Yuki Kobayashi and Tomoki Iwata.

It would appear that the former Yokohama F. Marinos head coach may look to utilise his J-League connections once again to secure yet another new arrival this month, with the Old Firm outfit believed to be eyeing a move for promising winger, Yuito Suzuki.

According to reports in Japan (via the Daily Record), the 21-year-old is believed to be a player whom the Glasgow giants are targetting at present, with there having been claims last year that clubs in Scotland were tracking the exciting youngster.

Described as an "inconsistent" yet "really interesting" asset by talent scout Jacek Kulig, the 5 foot 9 sensation has recorded a respectable haul of six goals and four assists in 93 club career games to date, while offering the invaluable versatility to be able to feature on the flanks or in an attacking midfield role, having previously stated:

"My strength is that I can play in any [attacking] position. What is required of me is to receive the ball in the gaps of the opponents and link it to the attack."

Also lauded for his "pace", "mobility" and "creativity" by the aforementioned Kulig, it would appear that the emerging talent is destined for a bright future in the game, with a move to Europe seemingly set to be on the cards sooner rather than later.

Those traits should also ensure that Suzuki proves to be an ideal heir to long-serving Bhoys stalwart, James Forrest, should he make the move to Celtic Park, with the latter man also offering that relentless speed and creativity from his wide berth.

The Scotland international has been a mainstay of the first team at Paradise for well over a decade, racking up a staggering haul of 102 goals and 101 assists in 461 games for the club to date to illustrate his continued consistency as an attacking threat.

A truly "underrated" figure - in the words of Transfermarkt's Stefan Bienkowski - the 38-cap gem has continued to deliver year in, year out under a succession of managers, having notably chipped in with five goals and two assists in 17 games in all competitions so far this term.

While the 31-year-old is far from at the climax of his career - having only signed a new three-year deal at the end of last season - there may well be fears that his powers are slightly on the wane, having notably "flopped badly" in the recent derby draw with Rangers, as per journalist Stuart Hodge.

Such an underwhelming performance - in which the diminutive ace lost possession every 2.6 touches - may well have left Postecoglou thinking that a new arrival could be in order, with turning to another dynamic talent such as Suzuki potentially set to prove the dream heir to Forrest moving forward.
