Celtic have had a rather busy summer transfer window so far, sealing permanent deals for the likes of Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Daizen Maeda.

The Hoops have also brought some new faces to Parkhead such as Alexandro Bernabei and Benjamin Siegrist.

On the other side, the Bhoys have seen numerous players leave the club either on loan spells or permanent free transfers.

One figure, in particular, that has waved goodbye to the club recently is Karamoko Dembele.

After working his way through the youth ranks at the Glasgow club, the winger only made ten senior appearances before making his move to French side Stade Brest.

While the fans and the club will have to move on without the teenager in their ranks, the Hoops could potentially end their latest summer transfer window with a perfect heir to departed attacker, preferably one that would have more of an impact on the senior team.

Last month, it was reported that the Bhoys, and their Old Firm rivals, Rangers, were looking at signing Schalke winger Rabbi Matondo.

After scoring 18 goals in 53 youth games for Manchester City, during which he caught the attention of Pep Guardiola who described him as an "incredibly fast" player, the winger joined Schalke in a deal worth £11m back in January 2019.

Last season saw the Welshman complete a loan spell with Belgian club, Cercle Brugge, where he found the net ten times in 27 appearances.

With Dembele hailed by Journalist Alison McConnell for being "exceptional at every age group he’s played in," it seems as though Matondo has now proven the same given what he did with City at youth level and now what he's done on the senior stage in Belgium.

Should Ange Postecoglou look to bring in a player that can have a better chance of breaking into the first team than Dembele had, securing a deal for the Welsh attacker may well be the next best step for both parties as the Hoops fans begin to forget about the disappointment over their former youth prodigy.
