A big Celtic claim on the club's plans has emerged ahead of the summer transfer window...

What's the talk?

Transfer insider Dean Jones has claimed that the Hoops could sign two more players to bolster Ange Postecoglou's team after sealing deals for Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jota.

They have options to sign the Portuguese winger and the Tottenham defender on a permanent basis and the reporter does not believe they will be the only additions for the Premiership giants.

When asked if the club will add to their squad outside of the pair, Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “I fully expect, especially with Rangers having success in Europe, that they’ll have an understanding that, ‘we can’t rest on our laurels here’.

“And they will look to probably make two more decent signings on top of those two.”

It's great news

The Parkhead supporters will be buzzing with this great news as it suggests that the club will not be taking their foot off the gas in the coming months.

It would be easy for Postecoglou to take a relaxed approach to the upcoming window as he has a squad that has just won the Premiership title back from their rivals. They finished four points clear of Rangers as they ended the campaign on 93 points, losing just three times in 38 games under the Australian coach.

However, the team from the other side of Glasgow look set to push them again next season. The Gers are in a Europa League final tonight and a win for them would mean that they are also competing in the group stages of the Champions League, alongside Celtic, in 2022/23.

This means that they would also benefit from the finances involved in that competition and they may look to strengthen their team, which is why supporters will want the Hoops to make additions of their own to counter that.

There are always areas in which to improve and the fans will be buzzing to learn that Postecoglou could bring two players in to increase the quality of the starting XI. This is, of course, on top of the deals to sign Jota and Carter-Vickers.

The pair both averaged SofaScore ratings of 7.33 or higher in the Premiership as they consistently delivered brilliant displays on the pitch throughout the campaign. If Celtic can bring in two more players who can perform to a similar standard as them then the fans will truly be on cloud nine...
