Celtic could strike gold in the January transfer window by completing a deal for Nimes winger Zinedine Ferhat…
Reports in recent days have suggested that the 28-year-old is a target for Ange Postecoglou’s side in this January transfer window.
And now, speaking exclusively to GIVEMESPORT, Ligue 1 expert Adam White delivered his verdict on Ferhat could bring to the table.
He said: “If they’re able to get hold of him, again, they’ve got a lot of competition from a number of Ligue 1 clubs who’ve been linked with him for some time, then they should absolutely go for that if they can, because I think he’d improve their team significantly.”
While James Forrest has been a fabulous servant for the club with well over 400 games to his name, his performances this season have been largely underwhelming, with just three goals in 16 games in all competitions, and absolutely none whatsoever in the Scottish Premiership.
Bringing in Ferhat would give the Hoops a fresh face to play out wide, and potentially even establish a long-term partnership with Jota on the opposite flank.
As per Sofascore, the Algerian averages a whopping double the amount of dribbles per game compared to Forrest, while he also outshines the Scot by winning triple the amount of total duels won, and making more successful crosses per match too.
Meanwhile, White has previously said when Celtic’s arch-rivals Rangers were linked: “He’s a player I really like and he’s been great for Nimes. He’s a technically-gifted player who drifts in from the flank and creates. He’s good for the odd goal and from set-pieces. If Rangers were to get him it would be a coup, to be honest.”
The 6 foot star with 29 career goals and 82 career assists to his name could bring an exciting upgrade on Forrest and build a formidable partnership out wide with Jota.
