Aston Villa fans again call for Steve Bruce to leave

Aston Villa suffered a 1-0 defeat at Burton Albion on Tuesday night to exit the EFL Cup in the second round.

Liam Boyce’s 52nd-minute goal was the difference between the two teams on the night, with Villa missing a golden chance to level from the penalty spot in the latter stages.

Indeed, Albert Adomah missed his penalty in the 89th minute, and Villa will not be present in the draw for the third round of the competition.

Villa are actually unbeaten in the Championship this season – starting with back-to-back wins over Hull City and Wigan Athletic, before drawing with Ipswich Town, Brentford and Reading in their last three.

Head coach Steve Bruce has come under increasing pressure from the Villa fans in recent weeks though, and they have once again called for the manager to be sacked following the Burton loss.

It would perhaps be a touch harsh to sack a manager who has only lost once in all competitions this season, but that is what the Villa fans want to occur.
