Orjan Nyland joined Aston Villa from German side FC Ingolstadt in the summer, with the goalkeeper signing a three-year contract at Villa Park.
Sam Johnstone was Villa’s number one goalkeeper last season, but the club’s failure to secure promotion meant that they were unable to sign him from Manchester United.
Villa instead moved for Nyland, and it has been a tough start for the stopper, who has conceded 11 times in six Championship matches.
Villa fans recently discussed the goalkeeper on social media, and that has again been the case in relation to a tweet posted on the club’s official Twitter account.
The 28-year-old has pulled off decent saves during his time in England, but it would be fair to say that there are a number yet to be convinced by the Norway international.
And it also does not help that Villa are currently on a run of six games without a win in all competitions.
A selection of the Twitter reaction from the club’s supporters can be seen below:
He’s going to be great for us 👍🏼

I wouldn’t feel confident behind the back 4 we’ve played most of the season either. He’ll come good once they settle in with Axel at CB

Should have come out and punched it. Take the pressure off the back four
