Aston Villa travel to Norwich on Tuesday evening as they look to build on the 1-0 win over Swansea in Dean Smith’s first game in charge of his boyhood club.
However, Smith and the Villans will be without central midfielder John McGinn after the Scottish international picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in the win over the Swans on Saturday.
This has led many fans to speculate as to just who will take McGinn’s place. Whoever does though will have big shoes to fill as the summer signing has been hugely impressive so far and has one goal and three assists in 12 Championship appearances to his name.
Plenty of Villa fans on Twitter though were hopeful that the suspension would allow Henri Lansbury to get some game time for only the second time this season. The 28-year-old was clearly out of favour with former boss Steve Bruce and he is yet to make an appearance in the Championship this season, but he will surely be one of a few Villa players aiming to make an impression on their new manager.

Think Lansbury should be given a chance to shine tonight. Love Conor but I feel Lansbury could offer something different and hopefully make a statement #AVFC

Lansbury instead of Conor, needs legs against Norwich imo! Also would like to see JK in for Albert

Hourihane will replace Mcginn and Lansbury could come in on the bench. Our squad is very strong #avfc
