Aston Villa fans react as Elphick future is questioned

Tommy Elphick might well be heading out of Aston Villa before the end of August.

The 30-year-old joined Villa from Bournemouth in 2016, but has largely struggled to settle at Villa Park – making just six first-team appearances in the first half of last season before moving to Reading on loan.

Birmingham Live have reported that Villa boss Steve Bruce is unlikely to sanction a loan move for Elphick unless another centre-back arrives.

However, Queens Park Rangers are being strongly linked with the defender, with the R’s said to be confident of securing a deal.

Elphick captained Villa in their 1-0 defeat to Burton Albion in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night, but the 6ft 2in ace’s future at the club is still very much unclear.

The Villa fans have been reacting to the exit reports on social media, and have once again taken the chance to have a go at Bruce when it comes to Elphick’s future.
