Aston Villa fans react to James Chester’s performance against Leeds

Dean Smith will have been sickened to see his side let a 2-0 half-time lead slip against Leeds United at Villa Park on Sunday. 

Early goals from Tammy Abraham and Conor Hourihane put the hosts ahead and they looked comfortable throughout the first half. However, the Villans were outclassed after the break and fell to pieces at the back.

After goals from Jack Clarke and Pontus Jansson levelled the tie, a dramatic last-gasp goal from Kemar Roofe completed the remarkable turnaround and punished yet more sloppy Villa defending.

With Axel Tuanzebe and Neil Taylor missing, Villa always looked uncertain at the back, and Smith will have been relying on James Chester to lead by example from the heart of the defence. However, the 29-year-old had a poor game.
