Aston Villa flop set for €10m summer move to French giants

Aston Villa’s clear out is to begin in earnest this summer, with midfielder Idrissa Gueye set for a move to Marseille at the end of the season, according to Le 10 Sport.

The 26-year old arrived at Villa Park under Tim Sherwood at the start of the campaign and has been a mainstay in their side ever since.

However, it has been a nightmare year in the Midlands and the club are all but certain to be relegated from the Premier League.

Over the past few weeks, there has been an overhaul behind the scenes as they begin plans to get back into the top tier of English football.

As a result, Gueye is believed to be on the verge of a move back to Ligue 1.

With Marseille reportedly close to selling former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Lassana Diarra, they are set to replace him with the Villa ace in a deal understood to be worth around €10m.
