Aston Villa are ready to build on their ambitious move for Ross McCormack by signing Bologna’s Amadou Diawara, with an offer of €17m (£14.6m) on the table, according to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Villans, who finished rock-bottom of the Premier league last season, are now in the Championship, but their dip to the second tier has not prevented them from pulling off some impressive deals.
Indeed, Roberto Di Matteo has been drafted in as their manager, while a £12m swoop for McCormack has been sealed.
And it seems that the Midlands club are not yet done, with reports claiming that an offer worth £14.6m for Diawara has been put forward, which matches the Rossoblu’s asking price.
The 19-year-old Guinean midfielder plies his trade with Bologna in Serie A and is widely hailed as one of the best young players in the division.
It’s understood that Diawara is considering his options amid rival interest from Napoli, with staying in Italy his preference.
