Aston Villa are set to make a decision over Remi Garde’s role as the club’s manager this week, with the Frenchman expected to part company with the Midlands outfit according to The Telegraph.
The French coach replaced the axed Tim Sherwood at Villa Park and was given the unenviable task of stopping the rot at the club after a poor start to the season.
Although Garde has brought some sparing optimism at times, it has largely been a campaign to forget at Villa, who look destined to be relegated to The Championship at the end of this season.
It will be a sad day for the Villa fans when they are demoted to the second tier, with a host of the current players set to leave the club as a result.
The Birmingham-based team have only won three games all season and are bottom of the table with a miserly 16 points.
The man that will be charged with spearheading the club’s efforts to get back to the Premier League remains to be seen, but it looks increasingly likely that Garde will be elsewhere.
