HYS: Should Ahmed Elmohamady start for Aston Villa against Bolton?

Aston Villa take on Bolton in the Championship on Friday evening, and Dean Smith’s side must avoid losing if they are to stay above the Trotters in the league table.

Villa currently sit 17th in the division after a poor start under former boss Steve Bruce, and Smith will be hoping to get back to winning ways after two defeats on the bounce to Norwich and Queens Park Rangers.

Here at Football FanCast, we think the lifelong Villa fan should make a couple of changes to his starting XI for Bolton’s visit to Villa Park.

In order to accommodate Yannick Bolasie on the right-hand side of midfield, Ahmed Elmohamady should be shifted to right-back with the 6ft 1in tall Alan Hutton dropping to the bench. 31-year-old Elmohamady has made 15 appearances so far this season in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing an impressive four assists.

He should not lose his place in the side altogether then, but Everton loanee Bolasie would provide more of an attacking threat.

So, Villa fans, would you start Elmohamady on Friday? Have your say by voting in the poll below.
