HYS: Should Anwar El Ghazi start against Swansea in Dean Smith’s first game?

Former Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce made a number of attacking signings during the summer loan window who were then left frustrated on the bench, but with new manager Dean Smith coming in every player will have a fresh chance to impress.

One looking to force his way into the side will be Lille loanee Anwar El Ghazi. The 23-year-old was considered quite the coup when signed, but he has only managed four starts in all competitions so far this season.

With one goal and one assist, El Ghazi clearly has talent and the ability to produce the goods in the Championship if given the chance and he could fit well into the 4-2-3-1 system that Smith has favoured so far this season with his Brentford side.

El Ghazi could operate off the left-hand side or in the centre of the attacking trio behind an out-and-out striker and the former Ajax man would flourish with the attacking football that Smith will bring.

So, Villa fans, would you like to see your new boss pick El Ghazi to start against Swansea after the international break? Have your say by voting in the poll below.
