Aston Villa are set to rival Premier League big boys Arsenal and Chelsea in the hunt for Real Madrid forward Jese Rodriguez, according to reports in the Express.
The Los Blancos star has been linked with a move away from the Spanish capital, finding first team football difficult to come by as he competes with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale in the hunt for a starting berth.
Previously, Serie A giants Napoli and Inter Milan have been rumoured to be making a swoop for the 22-year old.
However, Tim Sherwood’s struggling Aston Villa side are said to have entered the race to prize him away from the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Villa Park outfit are said to have failed with a move during the summer window but are now prepared to go back in with another offer as they find themselves in the bottom three of the Premier League.
The player’s agent recently revealed the Spain under-21 stars frustration and not receiving much playing time under Rafa Benitez.
‘He needs to be playing more, that’s the best way to keep his spirits up.’
