Birmingham City’s U16 squad smashed Liverpool 8-4 to win the U16 Blades Cup final.
Goals from Remi Walker, Josh Williams and Ramello Mitchell stretched a first half lead over the Reds academy side that pulled one back before the break.
Mike Dodds’ side could even have taken a larger lead into half time had Mitchell not seen his 15th-minute penalty saved by the keeper.
The second half, though, belonged to one player as Jude Bellingham hammered home a four-goal haul with his first coming in the 56th minute.
Bellingham’s opener acted as a momentum killer for the away side, who had moved to within one of the Blues lead. The 15-year-old then swiftly set about notching his second, third and fourth goals.
Form like that will ensure he remains a part of the U23 squad, having also scored on his debut last month.
These Birmingham fans are certainly impressed, as they shared their delight at the cup success.
